New Zealanders to pay ‘rates’ to UN each year?

New Zealanders would have to find an extra $1.2 billion a year to pay the United Nations in climate change fees, under a new proposed plan due to be discussed at the Rio+20 conference this month.

The fee is based on a proposal for the UN to take 0.7% of each developed country’s GNP, each year, to fund wealth transfer and climate initiatives in developing countries.

The monies would ultimately have to be paid by the public in the form of new fees or increased taxes, and they work out at nearly NZ$300 per man, woman and child per year, or equivalent to the cost of a year’s vehicle registration for every person in a household.

For a young family of five people, that’s a yearly levy of $1355 out of the household budget, over and above other existing expenses.

    The reality of it is:

The Third World developing Nations are the Biggests destroyers of their own environment. The biggests Polluters of their environment and also the biggest emitters. And are the biggest self-inflicters of damage to themselves.

So they should be paying the West reparations. From the fallout of their mess!

Of course it’s all to prop up the Third World UN Loving Despots. Who DON’T give a STUFF about their own people or countries environment. Just away of screwing money as an excuse to prop up their own corrupt Govts. Of course most the $$$ won’t go to the environment or to aid projects. It’ll go straight into their own personnel bank accounts!

CO2 emitted by the poor nations and absorbed by the rich. Oh the irony. (And this truth must not be spoken)
